Digital Evidence Presentation System (DEPS)

All Kentucky Eastern District Courtrooms are equipped with technology for presenting digital evidence.

Document Camera

A document camera enables counsel to present evidence to the Judge, Clerk, Witness, Counsel Tables and Jury via video monitors and a large screen plasma TV. Evidence can be in any medium (e.g., documents, photographs, negatives, x-rays, and 3-D objects).

Annotation Touch Screens

The touch screen allows Counsel to draw or circle areas on the screen (in different colors), which in turn displays the annotation over the evidence on all viewing devices. This allows non-destructive marks to be displayed without harming the original exhibit.

Laptop connection

There are two types of Evidence Presentation Systems in Kentucky Eastern District’s courtrooms. Legacy courtrooms supports VGA (Video Graphics Array) laptop inputs. While updated courtrooms support HDMI (Hight-Definition multimedia Interface) laptop inputs.

Please contact the divisional office's deputy-in-charge for details as what type of laptop input is available in the courtroom.
